I'm currently installed in small hotel near St. Mungo's. If the paint is peeling... a lot... and the dust bunnies are lively enough to gnaw my leg-warmers to shreds... and the splits in the insulation are too wide to block off even with The Big, Huge, Massive Compendium of Magical Self-Expansion.... at least it has a marvelous view of... a bunch of chimney-pots, or would if there weren't so much fog!!!! But the best part is I'm on the fifteenth floor, so I get a lot of exercise between visiting Lee and Kimi!!!! Why waste Floo powder when I'm only three doors away?

..I miss my common room. *lip wobbles*

Lee was able to sit up today. He's eager to get back into his regular routine! I've had to promise threaten extra stamina work next week to get him to stay still. His MAGNIFICENT RESILIENCE is TRULY INSPIRING!!!!!

Oh...yeah, of course. He hasn't stopped moping about it ever since he woke up. He keeps apologizing and blaming himself...it is a bit heartbreaking for me to deal with sometimes...he's a real mess.

Then... then he doesn't approve of what Shukaku did.

Please forgive me for being glad to know that. Lee's been heartbroken as well. It would do him good to hear that the attack wasn't under Gaara's control.

The poor boy... I'm glad he has you near. Your presence is probably doing far more for him than anybody in this hospital.

Ah...

Yeah, he is pretty beaten up about it. I can't say I remember ever seeing him like this. He says things like he doesn't deserve any care and that he did not want the medication because whatever given to him would be only wasted on him and all that jazz. It scares me a little, to tell you the truth...

I should have known that it wasn't Gaara's fault...and all this time, I thought he had some personal rancor against the boy. But, you know...it's not like I could've asked him...he'd find out that I know the kid and probably go crazy. It's just that I've never seen Shukaku actually take interest in a particular person, so I found it quite odd...

*winces in pain* When a child begins to doubt his right to live... it can be dreadful. I don't know what to tell you, Temari. If it were Lee, I'd take him outside for a training session and shake some sense into him. But Gaara's truce with Shukaku is too fragile for that kind of approach. You'll have to catch him when he's in the mood to change his mind.

I wish we could have them talk... but if Shukaku reacts to Lee again..... *rubs forehead* As things stand now, it's too risky to bring them together.

Come to think of it, I'm surprised the kid's still alive. I can't recall the last time anyone's ever survived Gaara/Shukaku's attacks...might happen once in a blue moon, but...

I mean... to get out of this mood, he has to want to listen to and believe other people. That could be hard for him, because he's so used to only believing in himself, but your persistence will mean a lot to him.

*smiles despite himself* I kept TELLING you my Lee is extraordinary. *softly* One day, he'll understand that as well.
