Again, I don't think fortune factors into it. Friendship is something people earn, even though miniscule ways. I don't just hand out friendship. I offer it to the people I find trustworthy enough to deserve it. Or I offer it to those who need it more than anything.

Jade is the former. He's given me advice and he's offered me support. He has earned my respect.

But if you had been in the Auror program as I am, you would know.... *doesn't want to prejudice him, but has heard a lot of very disturbing things about Jade in the past* ..He is a legend, and not one to be taken lightly.

..And that's why he's lucky. Sometimes people can act to earn friendship and if they are surrounded by careless people, they will still not be accepted. I think a person is lucky to find someone who will answer their actions with friendship. It's not something that anybody should take for granted.

...Nah. Even if he has done awful things, that hasn't happened as of late. What you were in the past is different from how you are now. And first impressions shouldn't come from an external source. ~~Ovan himself wasn't that... clean, in regards to his record, but I know he did it for what he thought was right.~~

Let me save you the trouble of going through that since I'm not sure if I really put that in Jade's profile. Pretty much, Jade is infamous for killing Dark Wizards/Death Eaters and stealing their corpses off the battlefield to experiment on them, having earned him the nickname of Jade the Necromancer and it is well-known that he killed a professor from Hogwarts when he was 22 but that was proven as accidental. There also might be some rumors about him trying to revive the dead floating around.

Thanks for that summary. Just one other thing: Jade was an Auror while some of this was going on, right? And how come he keeps calling himself old when he's only in his thirties?

Yup. Probably from the time he graduated Hogwarts till he was 22. Then he went crazy/insane for the next three years as he tried to revive his beloved professor. When he was 25, he got his senses knocked back into him by Peony and asked to head his little army thing against Death Eaters/Dark Wizards and he got more infamous after that. He calls himself an old man because he can really and that it usually annoys everyone who knows how strong he really is or makes those that don't know him drop their guard and think that he really is a harmless, old guy that does nothing but whine and complain.
